Solve the innermost parentheses first, apply exponents and other operations inside each set, then work outward while following PEMDAS at every level.
Calculate the exponent with the negative sign first if it is inside parentheses, or treat the base as negative only when parentheses indicate grouping, then proceed with remaining operations.
